Which Veil Is Right For You?

Veil Cuts

Classic Cut
The veil is cut in a "U" shape and gathered at the top. The edging detail goes up the sides of the veil next to your face.
Cascade Cut
A variation of the classic cut. The veil is angled on the sides to drape in gentle waves down the sides.
Circular Cut
The veil is cut in a circular shape, folded in half, and gathered at the fold. The sides of the veil are formed by the folded fabric, so the edging detail is on the bottom edge of the veil only.
Flare Cut
The veil is cut in an "A" shape so that there are fewer gathers at the top. This results in less pouff, yet the veil has some fullness and swing at the bottom. The edging detail is on the bottom edge of the veil only.
Cage
The veil is cut in a circular shape and without any gathering or folding it is placed on top of the head for a very sheer look. A portion of the veiling forms a blusher, which can be folded back to form a two tier veil. Some brides attach the veil with a pin, others prefer a comb. You may specify an attached comb for no extra charge.
Mantilla
Similar to a cage veil, this is an oval or circular cut veil with no gathering that is placed on the top of the head. It is often heavily embellished with lace. Some brides attach the veil with a pin, others prefer a comb. You may specify an attached comb for no extra charge.

Fullness

Most of our veils are offered in one of two standard widths. A 72 inch veil gives a less full, see-through look to the veil. A 108 inch veil has more gathering so it is fuller, and gives a denser, opaque look to the veil. A two tier veil will be fuller and more opaque than a veil with only one tier.

Blushers

The top tier of a two tier veil is often used as a blusher. Our favorite blusher veils are circular cut.

Length

Short
Elbow and below waist length veils measure 27 inches to 32 inches in length. These veils are extremely versatile. They're appropriate for formal or informal weddings, and this is a good choice if you want to wear your veil throughout the reception.
Mid Length
Wrist, finger tip and ballet length veils measure 37 inches to 46 inches in length. These are a bit more formal than short veils, and you may be more comfortable removing the veil after the ceremony.
Long
Chapel and cathedral length veils are very formal from 90 inches to 120 inches in length. The length can be a bit cumbersome, so these are best used for your walk down the aisle and then removed. If you want to continue the look of the veil after the ceremony, choose a two tier veil with a short top tier and a detachable bottom tier like the Radiant Wedding Veil.
