Colorful Photo of Redland Clay Tile Roofing

One of the the best things about living in Orlando Florida is the beautiful architecture styles and Spanish influence seen in homes throughout the state.  This particular tile is called Redland clay and as you can see it really adds gorgeous coloring and patterns to the roof.

We chose this picture because of its rustic appeal and beautiful blending of colors that tie into the overall style of the home.  Achieving a good balance can be hard to do when designing a house and the roof is often neglected. Typically, the most common type of roofing materials we see are asphalt shingles, probably due to their lower price point, making them more affordable yet not very appealing to the eye.

One of the more popular roof tiles is terracotta. As seen in this tile roofing photograph, it provides a crisp, sharp contrast with it’s orange glow. A word of warning though, as breath taking as terracotta tile is, it tends to be a little more susceptible to damage and cracking!

When it comes to durability and longevity, tile roofing is still one of the best roofing choices there are. Many roofers recommend tile not because it is expensive, but because it is a roof that has been used for centuries and proven to last for years. With so many profiles and styles to choose from, homeowners can easily compliment most architectural styles with a good tile roof.

Throughout the Orlando area and the state of Florida, you can see the various types of tile roofing capping roof tops all over. There are several styles that can be seen including cement, metal, barrel tile, Spanish clay, synthetic and slate. Each having its own unique look and aesthetic appeal.

Tile roofs can set the stage for a stunning photograph. Depending on the size of the home you may want to bring your wide angle lens to capture the entire roof in one shot. Or you can try to get a picture of the rooftop from a higher elevation and view point. Photography is all about the perspective and subject. The next time you are out with your camera, take advantage of the architectural beauty that surrounds you. Don’t be afraid of being creative and take pictures from a unique perspective and in different lighting to capture the image. You never know…even something that seems as boring as a roof or a fence can turn out to be a great photograph to hang on your wall.
